Fabulously Baron in style and swagger. Loads of potent dried black fruit, walnut, smoke, and game made for a great combination, as is so often the case with Baron. Accents of pencil, cedar, and mineral added to the complexity of what was, for me, the wine of the night despite being in very good company. This was, to be sure, the yin to the Lalande's yang. This was power and bravado beside effete elegance. Even in large format, seize the day now.
