Listing Details

One Rare 750ml Bottle of the Excellent 1973 Vintage of Château Clos l'Eglise . Château Clos l'Eglise is Located at the heart of the Pomerol plateau and is located in the Northwest Section of Pomerol on the gentle rise which culminates a kilometer away at Château Petrus. The Clos L'Eglise Estate Covers just over 14 acres of Vineyard and is planted with 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc with an average Vine Age of 33 years. The Estate was brought together in the Nineteenth Century and is one of the numerous Chateaux in Pomerol with the word "eglise" in its name. Today the Wine is represented by the Famous Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix Firm. The Vinification and Fermentation are made in temperature-controlled wooden vats with an extended skin-maceration and pigeages to extract tannins and colour. The Wine is then run off by gravity and undergoes malolactic fermentation in Barrel, then 18 month ageing in 100% new oak. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration with around 1,200 cases of Clos l`Eglise and 800 cases of a second label "Esprit de l`Eglise." The Style of Château Clos l'Eglise is an Intensely Fruity and Vibrant Wine with Significant Depth and Structure. This Rare Bottle is in Mint Condition and is in Commercial Storage.
