One Rare 375ml Half-Bottle of the Excellent and Outstanding 1959 Vintage of Château Lafite-Rothschild. This 1959 Vintage has been Rated Very Highly, at 99 Points by The Wine Advocate Magazine , and is one of the 20th Century's Best and Most Developed Vintages. Château Lafite-Rothschild is the Famous First Growth in the Pauillac appellation. It is Famous for its Elusive Perfumed Bouquet and its Great Style in the Great years. This 1er Cru Classé property is owned by Baron Eric de Rothschild and is one of the most Renowned in the Médoc. Located in the north of the Pauillac Appellation, Château Lafite-Rothschild is also one of the largest Médoc estates, with 95 hectares of vineyards planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). The Vineyards lie on Deep Gravel Beds (up to 5 metres thick) over marl and limestone. Annual production tops 35,000 cases, although a third of this consists of the second wine called Carruades de Lafite. Of all the Médoc Grand Crus, this can be the Most Beguiling and difficult to understand. It is never the Most Powerful, yet, along with Margaux, possesses the most Exquisite Bouquet of any Médoc Wine. It has the Elegance, Balance and Harmony that Epitomises Claret at its Very Best. Here is The Wine Advocate's Review , " 99 out of 100 ............. Tasted 9 Times With Consistent Notes Except For One Corked Magnum. The 1959 is unquestionably the Greatest Lafite-Rothschild that has approached full maturity. It remains to be seen whether vintages such as 1982, 1986, and 1990 will reach a similar height. The Super-Aromatic Bouquet of flowers, black Truffles, Cedar, lead pencil, and Red Fruits is followed by one of the Most Powerful and Concentrated Lafites I have tasted. Medium to Full-Bodied, velvety-textured, Rich, and Pure, it is a testament to what this Great Estate can Achieve when it hits the Mark. This Youthful Wine will last for another 30 or more years. Tasted January of 1994.  " - The Wine Advocate Magazine . This Rare 1959 Half-Bottle is in Mint Condition , with a Mid-to-Low Shoulder Fill and is in Commercial Storage. Thank you for looking.
