A perfect wine, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard comes from further north in the Oakville Corridor on the valley floor. One of the youngest wines in this tasting of 2002s, it boasts a classic Pauillac-like nose of black currant liqueur, spring flowers, charcoal and lead pencil shavings. With formidable intensity, stunning purity and a multidimensional mouthfeel, this beauty needs another 5-8 years of cellaring. It should keep for a half century given its weight, richness, overall balance and extract.
