One 750ml bottle of the Outstanding and Very Rare 1975 Vintage of Château d'Yquem. Château d'Yquem is the World's Most Famous Sweet Wine, and it is Well-Deserving of its Reputation. This 1975 Vintage is an Excellent one, and it is a Very Rare Bottle. Château d`Yquem is often Described as the Greatest Sweet Wine in the World. Château d’Yquem is the Very Top Sauternes - and has been for Generations. This Outstanding 1975 Vintage of Château d'Yquem has been Rated an Almost Perfect 99 Points by The Wine Advocate Magazine and has been called , ' The Vintage of the Decade .' Here is their Review, " 99 out of 100 Points ................ The 1975 may turn out to be the greatest of the modern-day Yquems. When fully mature in another 25-30 years, it may rival the extraordinary 1937 and 1921. This Wine continues to evolve at a stubbornly slow pace. It is far more backward than recent vintages such as 1983 and 1986. Nevertheless, it is Awesomely Concentrated, has Perfect Balance, and displays the Telltale Yquem Aromas of Vanillin Oak, tropical fruit, pineapples, honeyed peaches, and Grilled Almonds. There is Exceptionally crisp acidity that pulls all of the Massive Extract into precise focus. This is a wine of astonishing power and finesse, with a finish that must be tasted to be believed. It is a monumental effort that in the Next Decade , may justify a Perfect Score . Anticipated maturity: 2005-2060. " --- The Wine Advocate Magazine . In no other District is there a Chateau with such a Pre-Eminent Position. Many Wine Lovers make their way up the Long Drive simply to Gaze at the Chateau, which is Well Worth the Effort, since the Grandness of d’Yquem also extends to its Place of Birth. The Chateau was built partly in the 16th and partly in the 17th century on the spot where several Centuries previously a Castle with a keep had stood. In 1592 the estate came into the possession of the Sauvage d’Yquem family. It Became the Property of the de Lur Saluces family in 1785 when Josephine d’Yquem married Comte Louis Amedee de Lur Saluces. The Present Management of the Estate is under the Control of Comte Alexandre de Lur Saluces, who Succeeded his uncle in 1968. Alexandre and his Charming Wife Berengere have a daughter and two sons - the new generation is already in the wings. The Great Secret of d’Yquem is that the Grapes are Picked One by One at exactly the right Moment, namely when their Sugar Content is such that they could in theory Produce Wine of an Alcohol Content of 19 degrees to 20 Degrees. When Fermentation stops naturally at 13 degrees to 14 degrees of Alcohol, Unconverted Sugar is left. In terms of Pure Class, Style and Richness, d’Yquem Leaves All other Sauternes behind. It is a Wine which Inspires Praise of the Most Extravagant Kind. The Most Beautiful Description of d’Yquem Came from Andre Simon who saw the Wine as ‘ Distilled Dew and Honey with the Fragrance of all of the Fresh Wild Flowers of the Field Greeting the Dawn.’ This Very Rare Bottle is in Mint Condition and is in Commercial Storage. Thank you for looking.
