One 750ml bottle of the Outstanding and Very Rare 1955 Vintage of Château Haut-Brion. Château Haut-Brion is the Oldest Great Château of Bordeaux, and the only non-Medoc First-Growth of the 1855 Classification. It is a Deeply Harmonious Wine, Never aggresive, full of Endless Soft Earthy-Like Complexity. Château Haut-Brion is Characterized by its Seductive Perfume, Harmony and Elegance and its ability to Age with Grace and Dignity. Château Haut-Brion is Consistently Great, and this Excellent 1955 Vintage is no exception. It has been rated an Unusually High 97 Points by Robert M. Parker of The Wine Advocate Magazine, and is a Very Rare bottle. Here is Robert M. Parker's Review, " 97 out of 100 Points ............ A Dark , Ruby-Colored Wine with noticeable Amber/Rust, the 1955 Haut-Brion offers a Huge, Fragrant Bouquet of Walnuts, Tobacco, Wet Stones, and Smoky, Cassis-Like Fruit. Medium-Bodied, with Extraordinary Elegance and Sweetness, this Rich, Concentrated Wine Exhibits no Hard Edges. Remarkably Youthful, as well as Concentrated and Impeccably Well- Balanced. It is Capable of lasting for another 10-20 Years. " - RMP The Wine Advocate Magazine. Additional information on the 1955 Vintage, directly from Chateau Haut-Brion : About 1955 Bordeaux: A Happy Year. Vineyards throughout the Region were Particularly Beautiful, noted Daniel Lawton Sr., on August 28th, 1955. In fact there was just the right amount of water in July. August was very hot and Very Dry. September was Very Dry. Ideal harvest conditions, and Everywhere the Wines were a Success. In September, Lafite sold 100 tonneaux at 5,000 Francs "sur souche". (before harvest.) Chateau Tasting Notes : " I have Tasted the Wines of Haut-Brion, and am Extremely Satisfied. They are Sound, with Good Color, Smooth and Natural in Style... Very Good Wines , Comparable to the 1949", noted Daniel Lawton Sr.(Proprietor ) , on November lst, 1955 . The Wine is Marvelous Today. A Very Great Harmony in which all Tastes have Melted Together. Nothing Overpowers, all is Charm and Perfection." This bottle is in Mint Condition and is in Commercial Storage. Thank you for looking.
