This Auction is for One Extremely Rare 1.5L Magnum Bottle of the Excellent , Outstanding and Superb 1982 Vintage of Château Lafite-Rothschild. This 1982 Vintage has been Rated Very Highly, at 97+ Points by The Wine Advocate Magazine , and is Probably the Best Vintage of Château Lafite-Rothschild , along with the 1986 Vintage.
Here are the Ratings for The 1982 Château Lafite-Rothschild :
"This is a denser version of the 1990 that stylistically reminds me of what the young 1959 probably tasted like. Still backward with a Deep Ruby/Plum Color revealing only a touch of lightening at the edge, the Wine offers up an Extraordinary Nose of Caramelized Herbs, Smoke, Cedar, Pen Ink, Black Currants, and Earth. The Gorgeous Aromatics are followed by a Full-Bodied, Plump, Rich, Fleshy Wine with low acidity. With 6-8 hours decanting in a closed decanter, it will offer beautiful drinking, but it needs another 5-8 years to reach full maturity. It is capable of lasting 50-100 Years. " The Wine Advocate Magazine - Issue #183 (WA, 06/01/2009)
Rating: 97+
Drink from: 2014-2109

This 1er Cru Classé property is owned by Baron Eric de Rothschild and is one of the most Renowned in the Médoc. Located in the north of the Pauillac Appellation, Château Lafite-Rothschild is also one of the largest Médoc estates, with 95 hectares of vineyards planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). The Vineyards lie on Deep Gravel Beds (up to 5 metres thick) over marl and limestone.
