One Very Rare 375ml Bottle of the Excellent and Outstanding 1953 Vintage of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. This 1953 Vintage has been Rated a Perfect 100 Points by The Wine Advocate Magazine , and is one of the Decade's Best and Most Developed Vintages. Chateau Lafite-Rothschild is the Famous First Growth in the Pauillac appellation. It is Famous for its Elusive Perfumed Bouquet and its Great Style in the Great years. This 1er Cru Classe property is owned by Baron Eric de Rothschild and is one of the most Renowned in the Medoc. Located in the north of the Pauillac Appellation, Chateau Lafite-Rothschild is also one of the largest Medoc estates, with 95 hectares of vineyards planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). The Vineyards lie on Deep Gravel Beds (up to 5 metres thick) over marl and limestone. Annual production tops 35,000 cases, although a third of this consists of the second wine called Carruades de Lafite. Of all the Medoc Grand Crus, this can be the Most Beguiling and difficult to understand. It is never the Most Powerful, yet, along with Margaux, possesses the most Exquisite Bouquet of any Medoc Wine. It has the Elegance, Balance and Harmony that Epitomises Claret at its Very Best. Here is The Wine Advocate's review , " 100 out of 100 ........... On Two occasions I have rated the 1953 a Perfect 100 points . According to some old-timers, the Wine has been fully mature for almost 30 years. It possesses that Extraordinary Lafite Fragrance of Minerals, Lead pencil, Cedar, and Spice. It is Velvety-Textured, Wonderfully Round, and Sweet, but so Well-Delineated and Balanced. Drink now through 2030 . " - The Wine Advocate Magazine . Please Note : This Rare 1953 Half- Bottle is in Mint Condition with a Low-Shoulder Fill level and is in Commercial Storage. Thank you for looking.
