One Very Rare 750ml bottle of the Outstanding and Excellent 1955 Vintage of Château Lascombes. Château Lascombes is one of the Largest Great Château of Bordeaux.

Château Lascombes is Consistently Great, and this Excellent 1955 Vintage is no Exception. The 1955 Bordeaux Vintage has been Rated a Very High 4-Stars ( * * * * ) by World-Reknown Author and Wine Critic , Michael Broadbent. Here is His Review .......  "   * * * *  4-Stars  .......   A Very Good but always somewhat under-appreciated Vintage. Alternating weather patterns early in the Year ; a Fine Summer with a Perfect July and welcome rains in September. Fine Conditions for Harvest on September 22. Optimistic Reports at the Time but not as Attractive as the Heavily Bought 1953s. The Best , and Best Kept , However , are still Lovely -  Undervalued , some even Warranting 5-Stars. The Top Growths , particularly of the Medoc and Graves, can Still be Delightful - assuming Good Storage. "  - M.B. Additional Information on the Chateau :  http://www.chateau-lascombes.com     -     Château Lascombes  is a 2emé Cru Classé property ,  and is one of the largest estates in the Médoc and probably the most fragmented, with around 40 or so ,  different parcels of Vines spread throughout the Margaux Appellation. It was owned between 1951 and 1971 by Alexis Lichine and was owned by Bass until the 2001. Bass Charrington sold Chateau Lascombes to the American company Colony Capital in 2001. And , They are the Current Owners.

Colony Capital have invested heavily in the property and in particular have installed a state-of-the-art, stainless steel cuvier. The blend at Lascombes is made up of 55%
Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, and the Wine is Aged in Oak Barriques (60% new) for 18 months. Lascombes produces elegant, well-balanced Clarets, rich in Succulent Creamy Blackcurrant Fruits, which gain further Complexity and Depth with Ageing.
