Listing Details

One 750ml bottle of the Extremely Rare and Excellent 1975 Vintage of Château Petrus. Château Petrus is the Famous Property in Pomerol that produces wines of Power and Smoothness with Incredible Concentration. This 1975 Vintage has been rated a High 98+ points by Robert M. Parker, of The Wine Advocate Magazine. Here is Robert M. Parker's Review , "98+ out of 100 ....... The 1975 Petrus reveals a Youthful, Rustic, brutally Powerful style, with an Opaque Garnet/ Ruby / Purple color and an emerging nose of Over-Ripe Black Cherries, Mocha/Chocolate, and Truffles. Extremely Full-Bodied, Ferociously Tannic, but Awesomely Concentrated, the 1975 Petrus can be drunk, provided readers have a penchant for slightly uncivilized Wines. This Behemoth Petrus (the last made in this style) is at least a decade away from Full Maturity. It is potentially a 50-year wine, with Exquisite Concentration and Intensity. Last tasted, 6/98." - R.M.P. Its hard to believe that one of the world`s Rarest and Most Expensive Wines was virtually unheard of 30 years ago. It was only when the Mouiex family bought a half share in the property in 1962 that its true potential began to be fully realised. The 11.4 hectare vineyard is located on a plateau on the highest part of Pomerol in the far east of the appellation. The vineyards lie on well-drained clay-rich soil with gravel and `crasse de fer`/impermeable iron-pan as the subsoil. 95% of the vines are Merlot and some of these are 70 Plus years old. The wine is Extraordinarily Rich, Powerful and Concentrated, often with characteristics of Chocolates, truffles, Asian spices and ultra-ripe, creamy, black fruits. It is usually approachable after a decade or so in bottle, but the Wines from the Very Greatest Years will Continue Improving for Many More Years. This Rare Bottle has been Perfectly Stored and is in Mint Condition and is in Commercial Storage. Thanks for looking.
