Listing Details

One Very Rare 1.5 Liter Magnum of 1995 Clos Pegase - Hommage - Artist Series, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon RESERVE . The Artist for the 1995 Hommage, Artist Series is the Early 20th Century French-American Artist , Yves Tanguy . This Bottle is also Very Rare due to the Fact that it is Signed by Clos Pegase's Founder and Owner , Jan Shrem . It was signed at the Napa Valley Wine Auction . Clos Pegase is the * * * * - 4 Star Napa Valley Estate that makes Excellent Red and White Wines, and is Famous for its Very Age-Worthy Cabernet Sauvignons . Additional Information : In 1980, after 25 years in the publishing business, Jan Shrem found himself at a crossroads. He had built a publishing empire. And, in the meantime, Mitsuko ( his Wife ) had introduced him to the mysteries and pleasures of wine -- an interest that had quickly turned into a consuming passion. He decided the time had come to listen to his "inner Bacchus" and devote his life to winemaking. Jan enrolled in the enology program at the University of Bordeaux, where he soon became fascinated with the idea of combining ancient winemaking practices with emerging technologies. Nowhere was this combination more vital and exciting than in California, so, armed with the Napa Valley address of the dean of American winemakers, Andre Tchelistcheff, Jan headed west. With Tchelistcheff's help, Jan eventually created a unique wine estate - Clos Pegase - and an equally distinctive style of winemaking. He began by purchasing a 50-acre vineyard in Calistoga in 1983. Later, he would add more than 400 additional acres in the northern and southern ends of the Napa Valley. Information on the Hommage RESERVE CS : We refer to our cellar reserve wines as "Hommage." We coin two Hommage wines each year, one from Chardonnay and the other from Cabernet Sauvignon. Naturally, these two wines begin in our own vineyards. The red Hommage is comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon from our Graveyard Hill and Palisades vineyards and may receive judicious amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It is then returned to new French oak barrels and left to marry over the next 2 and a half years. By keeping the amount of Hommage we vinify to a minimum we achieve the two most important goals of any reserve program. First, the quality of our regular bottlings are preserved, as the amounts reserved are negligible; and second, the resulting Hommage is a very rich and special expression, deserving of a special audience. An homage to the winemaker's craft -- and to you, the wine enthusiast. The 1995 Hommage Artist Series Reserve Napa Valley is an Extremely Limited Blend of out Finest Lots of Cabernet Sauvignon ( 96% ) and Petite Verdot ( 4% ) . Aged in 100 % French Oak Barrels, this Wine Boasts Aromas of Toasty Cinnamon , Black Cherry and Lavender. Full Body and Silky Tannins will continue to Enhance the Wine for Many Years to come. This Rare Magnum is in Mint Condition , and is in Commercial Storage. Thanks for looking.
