One Rare 750ml Bottle of the Excellent and Rare 1979 Vintage of Beaulieu Vineyards, Georges de Latour's Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Beaulieu Vineyards (BV) Private Reserve is always an Excellent, Powerful, Well-Made Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Beaulieu Vineyard has been Synonymous with Premium Cabernet Sauvignon Production for the Best Part of a Century. This Excellent 1979 Vintage of BV Private Reserve has been rated a High 93 Points by The Wine Spectator Magazine, and a High 90 Points by Robert Parker of The Wine Advocate Magazine. Here is his review, " 90 out of 100 .......... My ratings on the 1979 Private Reserve have Inched Up as it begins to justify some of the Lavish Hype the Wine Received after its Release. It Remains a Youthful, Backward Cabernet Sauvignon that should prove to be one of the Longest-Lived 1979s. The Wine Exhibits a Dark Ruby Color with no lightening at the Edge. No aged Bouquet has yet Developed, but an Attractive Perfume of Sweet Red and Black Fruits, Vanilla, Herbs, and Earth is Pleasing. In the Mouth, there is Outstanding Richness, Full Body, Crisp, underlying acidity, and Moderate Tannin in the finish. This Wine Appears to have broadened, Gained Weight, and Expanded on the Palate without losing any of its Youthful Quality. It still needs 5-10 years of Cellaring and should keep for 20 years." - Rmp. The Rutherford Bench Vineyard was Established in 1900 by Georges de Latour, a Frenchman who bought over Cabernet Cuttings from Bordeaux and Propagated them in his Nursery. The Estate's Reputation was Established by its Cult Winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff - Andre Pioneered the use of Small Oak Barrels for Ageing and the Estate was One of the Very First to Bottle its Wines at the Winery. Today Winemaker Joel Aiken upholds the High Standards of his predecessors, with the Wines now showing more Finesse and Subtlety than Ever. Joel now Produces Extremely fine Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays as well as World-Class Cabernet Sauvignons. Please Note : The Picture is of some Old Vintages of BV that I own, this 1979 Label and Bottle look Exactly the same. This Bottle is in Mint Condition and is in Commercial Storage. Thanks for looking.
