Listing Details

One Very Rare 375ml Bottle of the Infamous and Extremely Rare 1934 Vintage of Château Mouton-Rothschild. This Rare Bottle has been Rated a Very High 90 Points by The Wine Spectator Magazine. After 50 years of sustained lobbying by the late Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Château Mouton-Rothschild was finally Elevated to 1er Cru Classé status in 1973 - today it is run by his daughter Philippine de Rothschild. It is located in the North of the Pauillac Appellation, opposite Lafite - the Vineyards Lie on Deep Gravel Beds over Large Stones, with the Subsoil Comprising Clay, Marl and Limestone. Mouton is usually a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. The High Cabernet Sauvignon Content gives the Wines a Depth of Rich Cassis-Like Fruit, Rarely Matched in Bordeaux, Accompanied by Aromas of Lead Pencil Shavings, Cigar Boxes and often a Hint of Freshly-Ground Coffee Beans. They can take up to Twenty Years to Open Up Fully and the Best Vintages will Continue Improving for up to 50 years and Sometimes Even Longer. Here is The Wine Spectator's Review of this Rare 1934 Vintage , " 90 out of 100.......... A Subtle Wine that's just starting to fade. You have to search for the Aromas and Flavors, but what you Find are Delicate Notes of Sweet Fruit, Chocolate and Cassis that are Charming enough to Still Rate this Aging Mouton Outstanding.--Mouton-Rothschild vertical. " - The Wine Spectator Magazine. This Rare Bottle is in Mint Condition and is in Commercial Storage. Thanks for looking.
